Indict the Department of Justice!

Has there been a single terrorism case post-9/11 that wasn’t a complete farce?

Remember the scary paintball terrorists? (innocent - convicted anyway)

How about the falsely convicted and later released in the Detroit Case? You know, the one where the prosecutor is now being prosecuted?

Wow, we sure felt like we needed government the week they were arrested, huh?

There was the “worst of the worst” in the form of Mr. Hamdi, who was set free by the military after the court said he was eligible for a writ of habeus corpus.

You may not have heard of Ali al-Timimi. He was convicted of talking, and was sentenced to life +70.

Remember the “sleeper cell” in Buffalo? “Plead guilty or we’ll turn you over to Don ‘personally involved in torture‘ Rumsfeld.”

That poor lawyer in the Spanish train bombing case who “fingerprints matched”? He’d have gone to the chair if Spanish authorities hadn’t proven his innocence.

Then there’s Abu Ali, who was tortured by the Saudis into “admitting” that he planned to kill Bush. The judge said evidence gained under foreign torture was perfectly acceptable, evidence that he was tortured was not. He’s doing 30 years.

Don’t forget Jose Padilla, who Paul “Liar” Wolfowitz finally admitted was innocent of the accusation - fittingly announced by former Attorney General John Ashcroft from Moscow - that he was going to set off a radioactive “dirty bomb,” and blow up apartment buildings.

After 3 years in a Navy brig as an “enemy combatant,” this American citizen arrested on American soil was finally turned over to the court system before the USSC could get a hold of his case.

Now, we arrive at the trial of the “terrorist sleeper cell” in Lodi California. Turns out, the people of that town - who were as frightened of terrorists as they had once been of Saddam’s nukes after the arrest with great fanfare last summer - were absolute fools to fear their neighbors for a single minute.

Funny thing is that if the federal infomant hadn’t so obviously perjured himself on the stand, this father and son would surely have been kidnapped and locked away for many years. They may yet - the jury deliberates…

From Knight-Ridder:

“The government introduced no evidence that Hayat plotted any specific terrorist acts. Other than Hayat’s own disputed admissions, prosecutors produced no evidence that he actually received any training.

“The government’s case relies largely on the testimony of its star witness, a convenience-store manager who received $230,000 in FBI payments for infiltrating the Lodi mosque to target its conservative clerics. The informant, Naseem Khan, stunned the court when he testified that he had seen Osama bin Laden’s top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, at the Lodi mosque in 1999.”

From the AP:

“Defense attorneys and terrorism experts said it was highly unlikely they would have been in the United States, a point prosecutors conceded later in the trial.”

It’s high time that all law enforcement powers over the citizen in this country are returned to the state governments and county courts.

The leadership of the US Department of Justice have proven themselves nothing but liars and murderers.

And don’t give me Moussoui, they could’ve stopped the attack in the first place if they’d listened to the agents in Minnesota.

Update: The stupid jury convicted the kid. Alexander Cockburn explains.

There is also the ongoing prosecution of artist and professor Steve Kurtz in Buffalo, NY who was charged with bio-terrorism by the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
He was eventually charged by a federal grand jury in Buffalo, New York–not with bioterrorism, as listed on the Joint Terrorism Task Force’s original search warrant and subpoenas, but with “petty larceny,” in the words of Kurtz attorney Paul Cambria. (See http://www.caedefensefund.org/ for background.)

“How about Al Arian in Tampa? Aquited but held in jail anyway, and now being deported.”

    Here’s another…
In the Moussaoui case, Federal prosecutors tried to get them not to release the Flight 93 tapes and transcripts because, in Brinkema’s words, “to protect the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) against premature public speculation regarding the cause of any airline crash so it may conduct a full and fair investigation.”

    http://washingtontimes.com/national/20060405-111016-6674r.htm

Here’s what the NTSB had to say about it…
“The Safety Board did not determine the probable cause and does not plan to issue a report or open a public docket. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 are under the jurisdiction of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Safety Board provided requested technical assistance to the FBI, and any material generated by the NTSB is under the control of the FBI.” This was written before Moussaoui ever got to trial.

and look up Flight 93 to see their full reports.

    Scott,

Like the famous line in Casablanca, “Round up the usual suspects”…..

I hate to say it but I think the future survival of this country will be determined by whether we find out what really happened on 9-11. The more I think about it, you have to be a total non-thinking idiot to believe the current story. If we continue to allow our government to lie to us and accept it, we are finished as a free nation.

If we bring the co-conspirators to justice, including the ones in our government, we have a chance to move on and fix many of our problems including the removal of all troops from the Mideast.

Please Scott enlighten us with your conspiracy theory?

  • Scott says:

I think bin Laden and KSM did it. They killed Mamoud the day before, they split the day after, OBL took “credit” in his Oct 2004 speech, Yousef and Murad thought of it in ‘95, KSM, Youef’s uncle, finished it.

I am yet to see a conspiracy theory about 9/11 that isn’t a bunch of crap.

I am suspicious about some things, but as long as people who believe a missle hit the Pentagon and there’s no such thing as air phones are the ones pushing the theory of government invovlvment, and calling everyone else “idiot” for not buying it, it’s going to be a long time before serious people think it’s a subject worth bothering with.

There’s smoke, but who could discern fire through all that muddy water?

  • Phil says:

I am not saying I support one particular conspiracy theory here. The government’s explanation of what happened is a bunch of crap. Those buildings fell like a controlled demolition, Building 7 fell the same way and no plane hit it. What about the stock manipulation and profiteering prior to the disaster? What about all the evidence hauled away and recycled without a full investigation? What about the convenience of the Patriot Act already being written in anticipation of such an event? What about the lack of coverage of people like William Rodriquez and others who have expressed their doubts based upon their observations.

No, Scott, I am not some tin-foil hat guy but I think I have been around long enough to know when something stinks! I know and respect how you feel about some of the authors who are talking about this stuff, but much of what they write is valid for questioning and to continually ridicule them is counter-productive.

From the circumstantial and political evidence, 9-11 appears to be an inside and “false flag” operation with the complicity of foreign governments and traitors within our own government. And this is probably not the first time either! Thats my hypothesis, nothing else. We probably will never know many of the details because the information will never be released. Don’t underestimate the corruption of the people running our country. Wilson and Roosevelt lied us into war generations ago so why is any of this a surpise?

Don’t be like the pro-wrestling referee who conveniently turns his back during a tag-team match while the one guy is being choked with the tag rope. The guy’s face is red and just because you didn’t see the rope around his neck, doesn’t mean he wasn’t being choked. The face of the USA is “beet red” and you can see the rope burns around its neck. Classy Freddie Blassie (Our media) is the announcer assuring us that everything is kosher.
Thats the best I can do with an analogy for my level of intelligence. Sorry!)

I will continue to write and read your column but I will respectively cry “Foul” when needed. Thank you for the opportunity to post my comments and I truly believe that the Constitutional issues that you bring to light on a daily basis are of great value.

    Regards
