Got Bulemia?

Bob Dreyfuss’s blog ought to get you going. He quotes from the LA Times:

“‘Her Brains Splattering on His Boots”

An account from Haditha by a Marine photographer who is the first to speak out:

“[H]is worst moment, and one that haunts him to this day, was picking up the body of a young girl who was shot in the head.”‘I held her out like this, he said, demonstrating with his arms extended, ‘but her head was bobbing up and down and the insides fell on my legs.’

“As he spoke, his mother, Susie Briones, 40, a Hanford community college teacher, who was sitting beside him at the kitchen table, silently wiped away tears.

“Earlier she confided to a reporter that her son called frequently from Iraq after he experienced nightmares over the little girl.

“‘He called me many times,’ she said, ‘about carrying this little girl in his hands and her brains splattering on his boots. He’d say, ‘Mom, I can’t clean my boots. I can’t clean my boots. I see her.’”

And the government of the United States continues to give aid and comfort to the enemy while destroying the soldiers that Michael Badnarik needs to kill migrant workers.

You know if our government masters felt so inclined
they wouldn’t think twice about doing the same to us.
Here they can get their way using other tactics but if
those failed you know we’d wind up just like these
    Iraqis…

“Minutes after Terrazas died, the remaining 13-strong
unit of marines went on a bloody rampage, wiping out
whole families, killing women, children and an elderly
man in a wheelchair, and hurling grenades into homes.
In all, 24 Iraqi civilians were murdered by American
    troops.”

“The marines then moved to the house of Younis Salim Khafif, which he shared with his wife, Aida, and their six children. Aida was in bed recovering from an operation so her sister was in the house to help out with family chores. A neighbour says he heard Younis beg for his life, telling the marines in English: “I am a friend, I am good.” They shot him anyway. Eight people in the house that day – everybody apart from a 12-year-old girl – were murdered as the marines opened fire and then lobbed in hand grenades. The children who died were aged 14, 10, five, three and one.”

Home of the Free, Land of the Brave - AmeriKKKa, ain’t it great! I’m sure Bill O’Reilly and Satan are beaming with pride. And I’m sure Faux News is about to tell us yet again how Sadam and his army were so evil and Bush and his army are saints.

All these atrocities are of course bad (duh), but I wonder what’s being done to acclimate these soliders who were witness to such and otherbrutal events. When they come back to the states after 3-4 tours of duty, how are they going to be deprogrammed from a role as a tightly wound trained killer into a jolly old family man?

    They won’t.
