Look, I’ve been trying to tell you…
From Salon: Bush: “The logic is upside-down,” the president said during one campaign stop. “See, we don’t create enemies and terrorists by fighting back. We defeat the terrorists by fighting back.”
Lt Gen Peter Chiarelli, in charge of day to day operations in Iraq, told the Los Angeles Times in Baghdad last month: “We have to understand that the way we treat Iraqis has a direct effect on the number of insurgents that we are fighting. For every one that I kill, I create almost 10 more.”
Sorry this is a month old, I’d missed it. Though I did write this last year.

Surely the President of the United States knows more than some Lt. General who’s been in charge of daily ops in Iraq. I mean, being in Iraq, you only get to see things up close, and you come to have certain prejudices. When people try to kill you for simply trying to bring them freedom and democracy, it’s difficult to maintain your objectivity. Bush, on the other hand, being all the way back here in the U.S. and having never experienced combat, it able to see the big picture. See, it’s like the blind man and the elephant. The Lt. General is feeling the elephant’s trunk and thinks it’s like a snake. Bush is like the rarely mentioned 4th blind man who is a block away and not prejudiced by only being able to feel the elephant a bit at a time. He’s able to maintain his objectivity by never experiencing the elephant at all, and therefore, clearly knows more than anyone who is actually in Iraq.
Plus, he’s got Condi, Rummy and Turd Blossom to tell him what to believe.
By the way Scott, are you still doing Radio KAOS? I notice it hasn’t been updated in a month. With my two favorite podcasts/radio shows gone, Radio KAOS was helping me keep my sanity.
(my two faves of course being your Weekend Interview Show and the Charles Goyette show. Oh, and and course Harry Browne’s radio show, so make that my 3 favorites. Oh, and American Dissent Radio also, which isn’t technically gone but might as well be as it’s been replaced by an audiobook podcast…which is pretty good in its own right but I miss Chris Cronin’s diatribes)

if today is opposite day, what is the opposite of opposite day? if the logic is upside down, what is the upside down of “upside down?”

I heard on the radio the other day that Condoleeza Rice is the only one in the Administration opposing this awful torture policy being promoted by Cheney and
Rumsfeld and others.
Is it OK to say “It’s a hell of a note to have to root for Condi Rice”
