Democrats and Progressives Love Slavery

Just look at their comments on Huffington Post, tripping over themselves to praise Rep. Murtha’s evil call for military slavery. Take note of their reverence for past wars that were grander and more smoothly run than Shrub’s. This is too disgusting for words.

If I had to choose between a welfare-state-worshipping, envirowacko, micromanagement party like the Democrats and a full-blown imperial warfare state party like the Republicans, I’d choose the former.

But if the Dems are the ones who finally bring back slavery, they will again be the more evil party, as they were under Wilson, FDR, Truman and LBJ.

This should be no surprise. Nothing is theoretically more egalitarian than military slavery, where all the slaves become equally dispensible cogs in the war machine. Who would clamor for such equality more than progressives? Nevermind that, in practice, the elite will still get their kids out of service. For these wannabe Communists, just like the originals, it’s the common man who most needs the democratizing and equalizing effects of the dictatorship.

As for Murtha, I never liked him. Never trust a critic of war whose main virtue is his own past experience in such mass criminality and unbridled inhumanity.

Thanks to Lew Rockwell for the link.

Assuming this comment by Murtha is a call for the draft/conscription (and I havent seen Mutha’s comment) and conscription is de facto slavery, it might actually be a tipping (bifurcation) point against the war.

Even OPPONENENTS of a DRAFT might support it under the BELIEF that a DRAFT will cause so much OUTRAGE among the wealthier classes that the WAR itself will be brought to a grinding halt.

IE a call for a DRAFT (by antiwar activists) is used to Swell the Antiwar ranks - because now they have a steak in this thing.

I hate the pro-slavery anti-war argument. It’s akin to arguing that the Department of Education should nuke Florida, because then Americans will finally oppose federal eduction programs.

I even met a pro-slavery libertarian once, who argued that enslaving the masses is the only way to end the war. Insanity! I suppose that initiating force is okay if done in the name of peace.

Of course, as a practical matter, the efficiency experts and cynical draftmongers are wrong. A draft won’t end the war, since it will only be enacted with a degree of popular support. And it didn’t end Vietnam, either, until years of turning VIetnam from a minor war into a major one. No thanks. I’d rather see the Iraq war end slowly than have it collapse after people realize the horror of injecting ten million fresh bodies into the bloodbath.

Why does anyone think the draft would apply equally to the president’s kids? The drug laws don’t.

Sure they do. But there is some bad news A.G.

We only get to see one of the Cheney daughters in fatigues.

The military has some standards - or don’t you know.

Imperial warfare state or Micro-managerial welfare state? Choose your poison! Don’t worry about the choice too much, we are likely to get (and are getting) both.

No, I think they’d need another terrorist incident on a 9-11 parallel, or much of a bigger of a State powered stick than the general public would submit to at this juncture in order to re-institute universal conscription. It’s still too early and they know it. Nonetheless, Steve C’s Political calculations add up, even if on a facultative basis…The thrust and effectiveness of such ideas are rather like knowing when to buy and sell stocks. Which is to say in Politics, Moral Convictions are subject to the synthesis of market forces; i.e. the mass depiction of reality borne by media propaganda. Prime example: Yesterday’s Katy Couric interview with The Decider on CBS…This also means aspects of pure Libertarian theory, as propagated by this party’s purists are not yet ready for mass marketing.
