Why Reasonable People Hate Democrats

They are pathetic cowards. Quoth Tom Knapp:

"Every time I turn around, someone’s opining that John Kerry "owes everyone who’s ever served in the military an apology." I don’t presume to speak for "everyone who’s ever served in the military," but I can speak for myself, so I will.

As a veteran of the 1991 war (Marine Corps — infantry), I don’t desire an apology from Senator Kerry. I didn’t find what he said offensive. The line as it was allegedly intended to be delivered would have been better, but what he actually said worked okay.

I do, however, have something to ask of the Democrats who are running for cover: Stop. Please. Show some goddamn backbone, for the love of Harry Truman. If you want a party line to cling to, try this one on for size:

‘We’ll gladly apologize for John Kerry blowing a line in a speech — just as soon as we’ve heard George W. Bush’s apology for the nearly 3,000 American deaths, the tens of thousands of American injuries and maimings, and the virtual disintegration of the US armed forces caused by his military incompetence, moral bankruptcy, and treasonous abuse of executive power.’"

  1. What you saw in Seattle was Kerry’s declaration of candidacy. Trust me, you’ll see him again in ’08 full of recriminations, visions, and further portrayed as a National and World healer…The font of all Leftist, Humanist Political wisdom, the, great Lincolnesque reconciler. Then as I’ve said before, as President look for him to attack Iranian nuclear facilities. 24 months is 24 light years in American Politics, while the average intellectual development of the electorate ceases at 15, not unlike the Devil, the Neo-con “hath the ability to assume a pleasing form.” What the he has gained with the Right, will he then consolidate with the Left. Like Herpes simplex II, this Foreign policy imposed and prosecuted against the manifest will of the American people, is the gift that will keep on giving…Remember I told you so.

  2. I think Bush will bomb Iran before Hillary Kerry gets the chance. I suppose they’ll be in charge of the occupation after Bush leaves though.

The neocons are already flocking back to the Democrats where they came from.

  3. Well yeah, maybe…The Decider does have that same 24 months to step in some more shit…and it would be just like him to do it with both feet. Francis ‘The Death of History’ Fukiyama was the first to jump his ship awhile back. But now? A neo-con God head no less than Richard ‘The Prince of Darkness Perle’ graces the pages of Vanity Fair with denounciations of the very same War Policies he, and other, key personnel designed and imposed on the Triumvirs Dubya Bush, Dirty Dick Cheney, and Don Guantanamo Rumsfeld; who are all three now holding some VERY big bags full of American body parts and what will amount to a half trillion dollar price tag—All for no good fuckin’ reason—Sound familiar to you my Ol’ Texas friend? Shore’ hail does to me…I swear I seen these here same things happen in a histry book somewhar. Go figgur? Because if I knew this would happen in Iraq? You can bet your ass those who planned it knew…and they should be held accountable.

  4. Remember what happened last time? The war spread to the neighbors too. See Justin today re: Perle and them?

  5. Yeah, I remember…and as usual Raimondo has ‘em bracketed and now he’s firing for effect as the chicken’s come home to roost with the chickenshithawks. Ya know Scott I’d like to corner Don Guantanamo Rumsfeld and ask him? “Tell me tough guy?—Are you gonna take these arrogant, predictable recriminations out of the likes of Prince Richard Perle and his AIPAC, PNAC, JINSA friend’s sitting down? You gonna hold the bag for ‘em Don?—Are you gonna be a punk? You gonna let ‘em add insult to injury by reducing you to a figure of National mockery and contempt?? I didn’t see them carrying stretchers in front of the Pentagon on 9-11.”

  6. You should do it. In fact, just now I decided that all liberty loving people should do their best to call old Rumsfeld out on this. What is he, their bitch or something?

I think I’m going to go quote you at AWC.

What do you think old Jude Wanniski would say?

  7. Just what you think he’d say. While Wolfowitz seems to have enough sense to keep his mouth shut for now. “Hey? Paul? Yeah you, Chief Clean Breaker, come over here a minute, I wana talk to ya about Iraqi Oil exports paying for your Goddamned war that’s starting to look like an American Algeria.” Even if I despise the fat fucker it sounds like Micheal Moore doggin’ Roger Smith…OK, there is a Libertarian National Committee in DC isn’t there?

  9. Rumsfeld’s nonetheless taking the heat. Wolfowitz, Perle, Krystal, Wurmser, Podhoretz, Abrahms et al along with the mechanisms of The Israel Lobby are not. They designed the Policy, Rumsfeld simply approved and actuated it; “following orders” if you will. I don’t kick people in the nuts when they’re down—Even if they might well deserve 2 or 3…and that’s that.

  10. They can tear each other to pieces all day for all I care. But, yes, the policy makers are a hypocritical bunch who are particularly contemptible for the way they try to rewrite themselves. The Iraq invasion and occupation were serious war crimes. I look forward to the day when all of these guys are behind bars.

  11. I’d like to see Rumsfeld fight back and blame them. Just for entertainment purposes, of course.

  12. Yeah I know, it’d be nice to watch, but fat chance on both counts. You wouldn’t think Don Guantanamo reads AWC…Meanwhile the Republicans are losing their asses in tonight’s mid-term. That’s some piss poor consolation I know gentlemen, but, I guess it’s better than a jab in the eye with a sharp stick. My deep thanks for quoting me at AWC Scott. Goddamn shame I can’t get in Rumsfeld’s face at a press conference. I guess will have to leave it to David Gregory….and that’s a worse shame.
