Defiant Cheney Cites ‘Enormous Successes’ in Iraq

Would somebody please indict this guy?

What does it take to press America’s outrage button? Maybe it’s just that no one reads the Post anymore.

  1. Actually, I do kind of enjoy his fuck you Wolf Blitzer attitude – substance notwithstanding.

  2. Lol, it was funny to watch that, it’s like Wolf wasn’t even there, he’s just asking questions and Cheney just keeps talking. Cheney really does look like the Penguin. Everytime anyone shows a picture of him, even CNN, they always show him with a snarl, maybe that is the only way he photographs.

Actually even though I know Blitzer used to be apart of AIPAC, and he is biased, well most mainstream news is, he actually does fairly good interviews, in that he gets people pissed with his questions. Sometimes he can be fairly objective. Except today, when he was talking about Jimmy Carter and his new book. Well Wolf didn’t really say anything bad, it’s just what he didn’t say. They showed Jimmy at the Brandeis university, and then they shoot to soundbites of Alan Dershowitz, and Dershowitz is going off. All I could think is… why don’t they out Dershowitz as the lying plagerizer he is. Argue all you want for Israel, but at least bring someone on who is not a joke, pretty tuff to argue for Israeli policy in Gaza and the West Bank without his tactics though. Dershowitz has really destroyed his own credibility as a person. He’s just a joke.

  3. All the rules apply to everyone but the Cheneys. Totally elitist and so hypocritical that even a Wolf Blitzer can see it.

I wonder what a Bizzarro World Dick Cheney would be like?

  4. …All I can say is if Dirty Dick calls this business a success I’d sure as hell hate to see his idea of a failure…And that Scott’s take on Blitzer, who may well along with others of the neo-Marxist Third Way persuasion support this war of protraction in secret, shows superb insight…I sense a type of Political inversion of Blitzer’s behalf…i.e. “Love the sin, hate the sinner.” That and my heartfelt thanks to all for their condolences per my Poor Ol’ Daddy

  5. One of the things Noam Chomsky always starts his talks with is plainly saying that these kinds of statements from leaders should be ignored. As a matter of fact, just ignore everything they say.

  6. …Phil, the indisputable reasons you have been brave enough to lay out is to my mind the nucleus of the why and wherefore of no cohesive, comprehensive, centrally coordinated anti war movement in the US today…Only non binding resolutions from Politicians; as if in direct response to Gen. Barry McCaffrey’s assessment of the situation 24 months ago, and his current comment on the commitment of 21,000 more more US troops to Baghdad as a “Fool’s Errand”…Such objectivity brings to mind Adm. Isoroku Yammamoto’s reaction to a gloating IJN staff after the successful “sneak” attack on Pearl Harbor. “I fear all we have accomplished is to have awakened a sleeping giant, and fill him with a terrible resolve.” Then there’s General Odom’s opinion on Intelligence.

  7. Kinda like the President of Delta House, in the movie Animal House, espousing all of the fraternity’s academic achievements. How does he keep a straight face?

  8. …Maybe Dirty Dick does has a point after all, Iraq has been an enormous success—For fuckin’ Haliburton et al…Conversely SIGIR for this Occupation, the phlegmatic accountant-attorney Stuart Bowen says two of Bremer’s former Coalition Provisional Authority Administrators are doing Federal time for various white collar offenses…Funny, if common, how they’ll throw some of their own to the wolves for what I believe to be the sake of appearances and matters of record to throw the onus off of themselves…One of ‘em probably got caught in bed with someone wife…The big bandits always keep the little ones in line…Bowen says at least $18 billion has been embezzled in Iraq…Go figure
