  1. You could see it coming like the last sentence in Orwell’s Animal Farm:

    The argument is because Mr. Pilkington and Napoleon have both played an Ace of Spades at the same time. But as the animals look from Napoleon to Pilkington, from man to pig and from pig back to man, they find that they are unable to tell the difference.

    We have lost what is left of the moral high ground. Why should anyone follow or trust us?

  4. This shouldn’t surprise anyone. Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo and the rest of the gulag archipelago, overt torture, the death penalty, and several million people in prison means that everyone on the planet can criticize American “human rights” from a position of moral superiority.
