News like this leaves me, uh, truly speechless…

Bush sees South Korea model for Iraq

The sheer arrogance and stupidity of this man makes me ashamed to be an American today, and leaves me with little hope about the future we are headed for.

  1. I have stated in another post that Bush is a delusional pyschopath and that people, for the most part, choose to ignore it. This is the result…

  2. I strongly disagree. I think he is a sub-tard, un/mis-educated, arrogant prick who doesn’t care about anything. Not crazy, just fucking stupid.

  4. And don’t ever forget that he never stops thinking about new ways to harm our country.

  5. I’m new to your blog. I’ve been listening to your interviews on Anti-war raido. They’re really good.

“… ashamed to be an American today.”

Hm … Whiffs of nationalism here. Is that intended or accidental?

  6. “The dominant scientific model asserts that psychopathic individuals are incapable of fear or other emotions, which in turn makes them indifferent to other people’s feelings.

But Newman has a different idea entirely. He believes that psychopathy is essentially a type of learning disability or “informational processing deficit” that makes individuals oblivious to the implications of their actions when focused on tasks that promise instant reward. Being focused on a short-term goal, Newman suggests, makes psychopathic individuals incapable of detecting surrounding cues such as another person’s discomfort or fear.”

Oblivious to the implications of their actions…? Sounds like Bush to me, read the rest here. And more here

Also: “If, as Dr. Miller has suggested, President Bush indeed has a sociopathic personality, we as observers would (as in the case of Hitler) have been fooled for a long time prior to his innermost self showing forth clearly. And now that Dubya has been in office for slightly more than two years, most of us are no longer fooled. As prompted by Dr. Miler’s preliminary observation, Dubya’s sanity and the underlying basis of his motivations and decision-making merit intense scrutiny.” The rest is here

Simply dismissing him as an “arrogant prick” demonstrates that the ignorance I mentioned in my first response is alive and well… He’s got you fooled.

  9. Ken – you got me.

Matt – Nationalism is lame. While I think it is horrible to assign collective guilt, it’s okay to accept it on behalf of your neighbors who, around here, are too stupid or shortsighted to be ashamed of themselves.

    And welcome to Stress.

Ya’ll be nice to the new guys! ; )

I agree, but feelings are feelings. “Your emotions make you a monster” says Jello Biafra. I have to agree. My feelings do what they want and I can only control them to a degree. You see, I have quite a few friends from foreign countries. And they all ask me where this country of mine has gone, and that the joke of GWB has gotten really old.

Hell, can’t help but get a little embarrassed, even if nationalism is kind of atavistic. My face turns red. I still give a shit. I still feel shame.

Now, perhaps someone can help elucidate the subtle-but-important distinction between nationalism and patriotism…

  15. Yes, I remember “ME”. America, today, is much like the main character of the movie; trapped in a timeless hell-hole with Bush as the sadistic warden who sends his neatly dressed children off to school while he plots to sodomize the inmates… We can only dream that Bush will suffer the same fate as the warden.

  20. I see Perle and Kissinger are on the list again. Our next president or veep will probably show up too. And no coverage in the US once again?
Benedict Arnold would be proud of all the Americans who attend.
