Democrats Legalize Illegal Wiretapping of Americans

I think it would be neat if Hell was real so Harry Reid could spend eternity there.

  1. I wonder what S.Horton thinks about the discussion there which ponders morosely the apparent compartmentalization of permissions in the waning phase of the Ashcroft department of justice. I observe the current sprint to make law of the draft neoFISA act very much resembles in pace the jawboning atmosphere during passage of prior recensions of several related measures, e.g., DTA, MCA, Patriot-1, Patriot-2; Further, I observe the paucity of blogging nearly ubiquitously this week as a synergistic effect of the YKos convention because people are there instead of online in realtime caucus. I would ask whether a legislative strategist might select this timing as auspicious for enhancing chances of passage of a laxly written neoFISA. Drafts of the sausage parts of bills such as these have been difficult to obtain in the extreme; and only by last minute restorative efforts from a few Democrats in congress have extraordinary permissions added to the portfolio of the attorney general been deleted or reduced in intensity. There is a lot to say about these matters, but I defer to the blogsite owner’s expertise in the history of Weimar, as that is the parallel that comes to mind, from my vantage. Yet, I would posit times are very different, and the perils from an institutional perspective much less forbidding. Call me a sanguine historian; but it is important to know the history, too.

  2. Please don’t call me a sanguine historian. I believe the capitulation of Congress to the Decider illustrates the reality that the Dems could give a damn about any realtime caucus of progressives. This has been demonstrated repeatedly in all matters related to national security and holding the Bush administration truly accountable. Talk is cheap and this is all the so-called opposition party is good for – mere lip service.

The timing of this push can be explained by the fact that the lying thieves who make up Congress desperately want to take off for their districts where they can ply their trade – telling lies, buying votes, and collecting bribes.

The passage of Bush’s surveillance bill is just one more nail in freedom’s coffin.

  3. I don’t know why they wouldn’t have done it any other week of the year.

Harry Reid is the lowest form of life in this world. Damn him.

  4. Is Reid gonna retire in 2008? I don’t know if I can stand another year of hearing from that mealy mouthed maggot.

They HATE us for our crumbling infrastructure… :(

    Bush beats Nixon for disapproval
WASHINGTON, Aug. 4 (UPI) — George W. Bush has sunk below Richard Nixon and could break Harry Truman’s record for persistent unpopularity among modern U.S. presidents.

  7. I knew Bush could be the best at being the worst.

  8. John:

Heh. I would posit that the historical comparison between today and Weimar isn’t completely awkward.

However, Cheney-Bush will not be the Hitler. They are simply setting the stage for a “Hitler” everyone (or rather a hefty majority) can adore and swoon over. This almost makes me wish for Hillary’s election, because she remains such a divisive and polarizing character. Her efforts to prove to the world that she is endowed with unparelleledly robust testicular fortitude will be seen for what they are to a large number of people.

Obama, now that’s another story… He would make a fine “Hitler.”

  9. Another “Hitler” could be Giuliani.

My opinion on hell is that it is a place where the Rockefellers their proteges and acolytes will have to admit what they did was wrong or face eternity as janitors for the real New World Order.

  11. Based on zombie film producer George Romero’s statement, “When there is no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth”, I conclude that not only is hell real, but hell has no more room left.

How else can it be explained that there are so many walking dead voters in America that continue to elect blood-sucking flesh-eating monsters to public office?

Of course, the possibility remains that we are already living in a special kind of hell where the Rockefellers are in fact serving the Great Satan as janitors for the New Hell Order.
