Ron Paul: ‘We achieved much more in peace than…unconstitutional, undeclared wars’

Ron Paul rocks ‘em in the ABC debate this morning to wild applause as he denounces America’s intervention in Iraq and calls for immediate withdrawal.

Poor old Mitt Romney is left sputtering, “have you forgotten 9/11?”

Attention Romney’s tutors: Qaeda in Afghanistan. Baathists in Iraq. These things are different.

How is Mitt supposed to be a God one day when he’s not even a man today?

Mitt was very funny…he said that 3 or 4 times in that one exchage. It was like seeing that episode of Family Guy again. You know, “9/11 was bad…9/11…9……11.” It seems as though saying the same thing over and over has somehow become a way to make an argument. It reminds me of Mencken’s quip, “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

  • Antiwar Aficionado says:

I’m pretty sure Mitt will be saying “have you forgotten 9/11″ whenever anyone speaks out against going to war with Iran too.

    And great job Dr. Paul!

  • Matt says:

Yesterday Eric Donder had some questions for me. So, I took a few minutes to respond this morning. Swing by my blog and check it out.

And the “Antiwar Aficionado” is right, Dr. Paul continues to make the clearest case for individual liberty and the Constitution. Funny, there seemed to be two moments when Benito Giuliani resisted his temptation to respond to what Ron Paul said…I’m sure he didn’t want another reading assignment.

  • Bob Bogus says:

Dang it Scott, I missed it. Did George Stepincrapolous behave? Did he let Ron Paul answer any questions? How was Mitt’s hairdo?

  • Scott says:

I’ve only seen the clip linked above. Eric Garris said he did great. Romney is, as indicated by Matt, a freaking joke.

  • Matt says:

Yes, Scott…I have been listening but I’ve also been doing, like you, a TON of reading. The great thing is so many of the guys whom you’ve interviewed I either already read their books or or they where ones I am/was using for research.

Your show has helped so much though, too.

I’m not sure if you saw where I posted before but I really dig the bumper music…you’ve got De La Soul, the Beastie Boys, 2 Pac, Black Sabbath…good stuff man.

Also, I’ve got eight suggestions for you for possible interviews. You’re welcome!

    1) Anthony Zinni — there is plenty to ask him about — get that guy on the horn! Do you have any insight as to where I can read more about him? Beisde his tiny web site and that book he did with Clancy?

    2) Tom Woods on his new book 33 Questions…

    3) Tom Dilorezo on the Lincoln myth

    4) Lew Rockwell on LRC beating Limbaugh and other various and sundry topics, e.g. Ron Paul, Mises, Henry Hazlitt, Rothbard et. al.

    5) Kevin Gutzman about his Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution AND his upcoming book about the classical liberal tradition in Virginia.

    6) Clint Johnson The Politically Incorrect Guide to the South (and Why It Will Rise Again)

    7) Jeffery Tucker on the Mises Institues’ growth

    8) Ralph Raico on what led to WWI and Winston Churchill

Yeah, Mitt cracks me up. He reminds me of a kinder, gentler Joe Isuzu. Mitt should just let his hairdo do the talking. That’s all most ‘mericans (as Bushie says) care about.

  • Bob Bogus says:

I just hope that George Crapontopofus isn’t as condescending towards Ron Paul as he was in that interview he did a while back.

  • Matt says:

    Bogus –

    >>I just hope that George Crapontopofus isn’t as condescending towards Ron Paul as he was in that interview he did a while back.

Believe it or not he wasn’t. It seemed like he justed wanted to be everybody’s friend.

And >>>Romney is, as indicated by Matt, a freaking joke –

Yeah, look at this clip and checkout Mitt’s mannerisms. He was looking side-to-side for an ally to help him jump on Ron…saying 9/11, 9/11, 9/11…of course to no avail. In case you missed the link above here it is http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=3958

C-SPAN will be rerunning it at 5:30 EST

Dr. Paul seems to be a bit rushed and nervous. He has these issues down pat, I guess maybe it’s just being in enemy territory that does it.

  • MikeL says:

Off topic, but I don’t know if you guys saw the clip listed next to the RP one. It was about a 5-year-old boy how was accidentally shot by cop that was supposedly shooting a snake…..about 400 yards (or feet?) away. I’m not opposed to gun ownership, but I am strongly in favor of stiff penalties for irresponsible jerks (cops or otherwise) who don’t know the first thing about gun safety. The poor kid was just sitting next to his grandpa, fishing. And his parents were forgiving. Amazing.

  • Scott says:

It’s not a crime if a cop does it.

  • MikeL says:

    Yeah, that’s right.
