Scott – GREAT SHOW! I love it when you blast those Republicrat scumbags for the tortures, their hypocrisy and for the “re-direction”. At least somebody in this country treats them like the deserve: with utter contempt!
Please post the archive ASAP! I will send it to my friends abroad
Scott – there is NO WAY the Sunni can help the GIs in Iraq, it’s too late for that. The Shia OWN Iraq by now, and the Iranians can easily cross the border. It’s too late for that. For the first time I heard you say something I believe you are totally wrong about. Behind the Sunni lines they will be butchered by the Sunnis AND by the Shia who can enter any part of Iraq. Stricking a deal with the LOCAL SHIA COMMANDERS is the ONLY chance the American troops have. Everything else is naive to the extreme. Sorry.
oh and by the way – there are no battle lines in Iraq so forget about “behind the Sunni lines” concept. The Shia will even enter the Green Zone if they want once the shit hits the fan.
one more thing before I run. if the Shias managed to disguise themselves as AMERICAN CONTRACTORS (with SUVs and American accents) how hard will it be for them to infiltrate Anbar or any other area of Iraq.
Cheers! (and sorry for disagreeing, man, you are the best!)
The Iran-Iraq montage reminded me of something I saw on Fox (or was it CNN?) while I was at the gym. Someone said “we have repeatedly tried to bring Iran to the table.” If I recall correctly Iran was repeated pushed away from the proverbial table. Aren’t we currently demanding that Iran cease enrichment before any talks can begin? If so, it really is pathetic that the MSM can get basic facts right. But then again, neither can W.
Way to go, Scott! Tellin’ it like it is as far as what our Nazi masters are doing to this country and the world while the Amerikan Sheeple slam down another brewsky and baa with alacrity.
You are correct Antiwar Aficionado, the report you heard was complete BS. The Iranians offered the grand bargain in 2003 to Washington, offering to meet all of Washington’s demands, but were rebuffed by Cheney and the neocons. In fact Cheney and co went so far as to condemn the Swiss embassy for even passing on the memo (as they are required to do).
Secondly, the US have never offered to sit at the table with the Iranians. They are “allowing” the British and Europeans to negotiate on their behalf, but of course, they have refused to even consider Iran`s main request – a reassurance not to be attacked. The enrichment issue is just a distraction, and it is because no evidence has been produced to suggest Iran is doing anything untoward that Cheney et al are using the EFP argument.
VS: Haven’t the Sunni held their own all this time? Could there not be a deal struck with some former Ba’athists where we promise to try to help them resist domination by the Shia if they will stay with the new turn toward arming them against al-Qaeda and the Badr Corps?
Or is it really way too late for that? Would they really set up our whole army to die like that? Fuck man. This whole thing is insane. (Oh, and I hope I didn’t misquote your email… I was a disaster today… Sorry if I did.)
D: Technical problems or just too expensive from Hobbiton?
Shingo: Busy signal? Shit. It tests out okay on my end… Please try again tomorrow ya’ll.
Scott – I just listened to the very interesting interview of Nir Rosen with Amy Goodman (I think you mentioned it on your show, so you have heard it too) in which he says that most of the Iraqis are Shia, but most of the refugees are Sunni and that only Anbar is safer for them – that should tell you what the score card is on this one. When the Badr Briages + Mahdi go after Anbar they will turn it into hell for the Sunnis anytime they want. Clearing Baghdad was hard – the rest is comparatively easy.
Keep in mind also that the Saudis, Egyptians and Jordanians can throw money at the Sunni insurgency, but money is no match for determined combattants (as Hezbollah and Israel showed us last summer). Right now I bet you that the Shias could take on the USA and the Sunnis at the same time and still prevail. No, the Sunnis lost and that’s it. This is something neither the USA, nor Israel, nor the Saudis can do anything about. The war in Iraq will most likely spread out to Iran, Syria and the rest of the region and the Shia will prevail even then. Even in Afghanistan the Iranians (via the Tadjiks, Uzbeks and Hazaras) are the biggest force, stronger than the Taliban if need be.
The entire “redirection” is just another Neocon delusion born out of crass ignorance, gross incompetence, and imperal hubris. There will come a day when even Israelis will fondly remember “good old” the Middle-East when folks like Saddam, Arafat or Assad where in power…
Scott – make sure you listen to the Rosen interview: this guy is world class on Iraq. He would, by the way, make a fantastic guest for your show. (I am also begging him to agree to an interview for my blog). Everybody here – listen to this one: http://www.archive.org/download/dn2007-0821/dn2007-0821-1_64kb.mp3
You are so right about that CNN clip–what a piece of barf.
No wonder nobody ever has a clue what anyone is running on; all those CNN people care about is who those kids think’ll win. That counts for five minutes of completely wasted air time that could’ve been used letting the Rep. student explain more about Ron Paul’s positions beyond “Well, I’m an idealist, so I hope for Ron Paul to win.”
Then–if she could have explained a thing or two about Paul’s position–we would never have had to hear the young Dem. student prattle on about “all the Republican candidates want to stay in Iraq and turn it into another Korea,” which is ignorant in its Korea analogy and flat out wrong about “all the Republican candidates.”
So, Mike L. Thanks for sharing, I suppose.
VS: I’m going to listen to your recommended DN interview with Nir Rosen on the way home tonight, since Mr. Horton has not posted the archive from today.
Scott,
I can never, ever get an open KAOS stream if I wait to tap in after you’ve already started the show. I just figured it was a sign of your popularity.
“Well, I don’t know what program they’re using to listen, but most will roll over to the next item on the playlist. Guess these guys need to manually select the relay when listen128 won’t take them.”
Scott.
U have one of the best stories today – Gonzales leave office
Hope u find someone who have a good and maybe funny comment.
Best
Ove
Watch this shamelessness on CNN. If these kids don’t vote for the front-runners, then to hell with them!!!
Ron Paul could win this thing, guys. Seriously.

I said “Stricking a deal with the LOCAL SHIA COMMANDERS” Shia – not Sunni. The Sunnis have lost, you do not want to sink with them

i cant call in.
I tried calling in a few times too and just got an engaged signal.

I actually only read one small excerpt of it. It’s on my list…
I just read this horrible shit by Patrick Cockburn… I forget where I found the link… Justin’s article.

The KAOS stream kicked me off, and I couldn’t get back on again. Listened to some nice calm and relaxing Ludvig Van Beethoven instead.
It kicked me off too. I hope only once. Why you couldn’t get back on is the real problem. There should be plenty of 128 streams.
Scott,
I can never, ever get an open KAOS stream if I wait to tap in after you’ve already started the show. I just figured it was a sign of your popularity.
That sucks. I’ve emailed a KAOS computer genius to see if he knows how to fix it.
a, where do you post the monologues?
