Mike Huckabee to Compound His Mistake?

LRC Blog passes on an FMNN report that Huckabee has accepted CNN’s invite for a toe to toe with Ron Paul on the terror war.

Where are you going to be without Guito the gangster and Sally the Massachusetts governor at your back, punk?

Update: FMNN is not a very reliable source and this would really be shooting downward for Dr. Paul dontcha think?

Good for Ron Paul. In that last debate there were times when I would have sworn that Chris Wallace was so over-the-top he sounded like Stephen Colbert and wound up making a great foil for Dr. Paul. I’m pretty sure the same thing will happen here.

…I’ll believe it when I see it, and moreover the format in which CNN chooses to couch the debate…In terms of Media cant CNN is the neo-Conservatives’ Luxury Hotel, or home away from home; home being the shit dished out by friends at Fox—And in any case gentlemen, Huckabee’s little more than a buffoon of an “also ran.” This neo Ronald Reagan Fred Thompson—who I think may indeed be the next Chief Executive—is who Dr. Paul should debate in a less ochestrated and controlled setting, with the moderator keeping his trap shut…Failing a last minute declaration of candidacy by Sen. John F. Kerry, then Thompson, given the fact that he will be running against either Big Mother, or Iraqa Bombma…will win…Why? No way in hell will the former two mentioned Democrats, their pro-war stance notwithstanding, carry the Conservative South come ‘08…While Thompson; a son of Tennessee can do so easily. Thus conventional and complacent minds consider Rep. Ron Paul’s direct and unvarnished barrage of facts, particularly on Forgien Policy; the workings and discharge of a loose cannon…How so? as I enjoy quoting the Roman Maxim “Veratis parit Odium” or, Truth Imparts Hatred…Ron Paul’s bloody knuckled truth…But the Public I’m afraid, is like a woman: It wants to be fucked.

in my experience man want to be fucked A LOT more than women who, at least, can spend SOME time of the day thinking of something else :-)

I believe Hitler said the same thing but replace PUBLIC with CROWD.

Mace….if you run out of Bukowski quips….try James Ellroy….

Try THE COLD SIX THOUSAND and/or AMERICAN TABLOID…..

Y’know …he uses langusge like “bury the brisket” (for sex) and so forth…He has a character called Danny Getchel (a Walter Winchell type) who writes in an over the top alliteration I think you’d enjoy.

Regarding Danny Getchell….He’d probably say the whole stress blog crew (yours truly included) is “Fuckin with a soft dick.”

So it looks like Chomsky and Scheuer got a nice big plug from OBL.

I just read the mention of Michael Scheuer on page 5 of 6:

So much for checking out a Chomsky or Scheuer book from the library. That’ll be an express pass to the no fly list…

I know this is out of left field, but I know you guys can help. A day or so ago there was about 15 seconds on the news about a nukes being flown over American soil “by accident” and then later I swear I read that someone said they were being moved for use in Iran. I can’t find anything on the story now, anyone have a link for me?

I’m not sure the public really wants to get fucked, but like many women, much of the public wants to be lied to.

As for a Paul vs Huckabee match, I’d rather see the good doctor rip Fred Thompson a new asshole. Did y’all hear that FOUR people showed up for a Fred rally? You can’t make this kind of shit up:

And if you’re tired of the madness of all these neo-republicrat ass clown candidates, there’s a fresh new lunatic on the scene:

Apparently, this Mercer guy smokes angel dust and digs prison sex.

…Actually I don’t think anyone has a patent on that epigram I cited…Some Greek probably came up with it first and it’s been handed down ever since…But anyway…if words and ideas are the best weapons of all?—And I’m certain we’re all agreed they are—Then as the bastard Prince of Austria, Don Juan said to his quarrelling Venetian, Genoese, Maltese and Spanish allies of the Holy League before the Battle of Lepanto: “…Gentlemen, the time for counsel has past; and the time for fighting has come.” Past that? bin Laden’s a homicidal Religious fanatic and a Goddamned devil—Period…Chomsky? Chomsky’s a fuckin’ career Marxist and an Intellectual Subversive of the lowest order, while Men like Mr. Scheurer and Rep. Paul? They remain our last hope; and in that sense, they’re very dangerous men…Anyone here would be, me included…Bottom line? You’ll recall the Old Chinese curse…”May you live interesting times.” And we sure’s hell are.

…In bin Laden’s, or more likely al Zawahiri’s “praising” of Chomsky and Scheurer; it goes without saying that one should consider the source…evidently Machiavelli’s been translated into Arabic—But despite that very glaring and incontrovertible reality—A reality that such Propagandists the caliber of Krystal, Krauthammer, Podhoretz and Co. are more than aware of—neo-Cons will go straight for the Realists and Libertarians throat over it…This, is rapidly becoming an ugly state of affairs…The time for fucking around drunk is over.

    The strategy is clear here:

So Huckabee’s gonna play the role of “moderate attack Jobber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_(professional_wrestling)” here to try and discredit Ron Paul and soften him up for the likes of Ghouliani and Cheap Imitation Reagan. The GOP needs a frontrunner built up to do the final JOB to Hillary next year in the election.

They need to ensure Paul doesn’t win the nomination and this is just another in their many machinations to do so. If everyone sees thru it, and many are, its GAME OVER for the GOP insiders.

Paul will kick Obama or Hillary’s phoney ass, especially in a debate, and they know it.

I hate politics but I like pro wrestling. Go figure.

Hey - I have to choose a pen name for my first book. Do any of you smart people have any suggestions? I want something cool, like George Orwell or Mark Twain.

They effectively throw Huckleberry under the bus to try and stop Paul. I guess that makes him “collateral damage” in the scheme of things.

I wouldn’t get too excited about the Paul-Huckabee “debate”. If they have anything at all, it won’t be more than a 5-6 minute segment between commercials.

  17. David posted the following on September 8, 2007 at 11:47 am.

A sustained effort by both the MSM and conservatives (including Rush) to promote Huckabee to the top tier. I hope they pull it off since this fragment the top tier into a group of five (for an average of less than 20 percent of the vote per candidate). It would be great if Newt jumped in too, making it six. The more pro-war folks in that top group, the better for Paul.

Huckabee is probably the best punching bag that Paul could hope for. He can be attacked on foreign policy (thus winning over leftists) and also for his tax raising record in Arkansas and advocacy of Nanny state paternalism, such as federal smoking bans, thus helping him with economic conservatives.

    Hi David,

As Paul said when he welcomed Boss Hogg into the race - great, he’ll just help to dilute the pro-war vote in my favor.

I would much prefer to see Paul debate Giuliani. There’s more to gain there,
As a matter of fact I think Paul offered to debate him right after that first Fox debate, though I doubt if Giuliani would ever accept.
