When I read the OBL transcript, the first thing that came to mind was,”time for another Michael Scheuer interview.”
He mentioned Scheuer’s books because Scheuer has been the one saying the public hasn’t been told why we were attacked. He was trying to credibly establish that claim.
Scott, can you ask him if he’d would work for RP if the opportunity to do so?

MIchael Scheuer is really very good. So far all he says makes perfectly good sense. I hope Scott asks him about Iran and where he thinks this heading.
OBL also mentioned Chomsky. Scheuer and Chomsky are two of the most brilliant minds in this country, and that shows that OBL is very well informed about what is going on over here.
I don’t believe that the folks running Russia today would NEVER EVER let Soviet nukes out of total control. These guys are way too ruthless to ever allow anyone to control nukes besides themselves.

After the tape was released I saw a number of headlines on Google news that said OBL says Americans should convert in order to avoid being attacked. My interpretation of the transcript was very different.
Sure it’s true that Islamic law requires OBL to give us an opportunity to convert before an attack, but I tend to think headlines like the ones that accompanied the release of the tape are misleading as they lead people to believe the reason terrorist attacks occur is that we aren’t Muslims. It may be a goal of their to build a global caliphate, but that is not necessarily why terrorist acts are perpetrated. I think that is why OBL invoked the name of Mike Scheuer.

Is there a way to crop out part of an mp3 recording. It seems that downloading an mp3 is an all or nothing matter. I’d like to download that “Captain, there are doubts…” song. I know there’s a video on youtube but I know of know way to download the music.
…Scott, I went to download the free 5.35 version of winamp—and they wanted to know everything but my hat size—So I removed it…Most of these programs are just too fuckin’ nosy about trying to sell you something you neither want nor need…That, and you can’t completely uninstall the damn thing

It’s a fantastic resource.
If it asks you for your information (like zip code, name, gender, etc.) just lie. But the older versions aren’t as intrusive as the new ones.
I’ve never had to give winamp any info. I think you can just click “leave me the fuck alone” and it’s fine.

Michael Scheuer on one hand appears to oppose the neoconservative foreign policy agenda and yet still apparently believes in an interventionist foreign policy. Additionally, why support Dr. Paul if he wants yet another invasion, this time in Pakistan? Scheuer almost appears ot be a fence-sitter in some respects.

I’m not sure that’s right. He definitely believes that our interventionist foreign policy has gotten us into this mess, but that at this point it’s a war and that the Qaeda dudes need killed. In a previous interview he told me he sees our choice as war or total war. War if we quit intervening otherwise, total war if we keep doing what we’re doing.

Didn’t hear this interview, but I read this as CM saying why is Scheuer supporting Dr. Paul, if Scheuer wants to invade Pakistan (I’m assuming to go after OBL) and (non - Interventionist) does not?
