All I can say is that every single person who believes what Podhoretz believes should take be able to fight whatever war they wish to engage in. However, it is my contention that they should not be funded by our government nor fight in the name of any American other than themselves.
Besides, I’m sure they’d all be fighting for honor and glory so that should be sufficient payment enough, right?

Did you guys know that not only was Podhoretz a better writer than those beat lightweights Norman Mailer and Jack Kerouac, but he was also more successful with the ladies? It’s true! Podhoretz himself says so.
Never mind that Podhoretz is an obscure ethnic bigot and warmonger, while the Beats produced classics of American literature. Podhoretz got more chicks! Take that, Norman Mailer!

I’ll admit that there are some things Pod has written in the past that are interesting, but only from a Brooklyn/New York historical point of view. But generally his work is angry hate, stemming from being pushed around at a young age and feeling guilt over being here in the states while the holocaust occurred over in Europe.
On the special he said “he didn’t want Iraq and Iran to be allies”.
I couldn’t read that Podhoretz piece. The title cracked me up though.
Also, why am I not suprised that an Ann Coulter google ad would appear on a thread with “My Negro Problem” and Norman Podhoretz on it?
I just finished the Podhoretz book and it was pretty stupid. He’s just a sick old paranoid fart who happens to still command the butt-kissing of a bunch of fellow psychos like W.F. Buckley and everyone else at NR. The thing is, he insults all these people and yet they still turn and brown-nose him. He also gets into the whole “Pat Buchanan is a Jew-hater” thing. It’s typical Commentary-esque blather. I was hoping for some real “blow them to smithereens” Podhoretz type stuff, but it never materialized. I think the most interesting thing is that he think Bush is an incredibly great president. It’s really weird.

Reminds me of something Jim Trafficant said when one of his constituents referred to all Congressmen as prostitutes. Trafficant seized the moment and said that the comment was an insult to all the hookers out there, to be compared to lowly Congressmen.
