In Scott’s interview with Larisa Alexandrovna, it becomes apparent that Hastert and other Congresscritters sold intelligence secrets for cash, and it was this, not Armenian Genocide, that was the main thing Hastert was allegedly paid off for.
Yes, this would make the William “I’ve got money in my freezer” Jefferson look like an honest guy in comparison.
Note that Hastert stood up for Jefferson when the FBI raided his Congressional office. Was this out of Hastert’s concern for the Separation of Powers, or his own naked self-interest in making sure his office was never raided?
