  1. …War all the time.

  2. There sure does seem to be a lot of news reports on Iran today, are the neo-cons priming the press for war ? they’ve pretty much squared with the UN, Saint Chicken shit has just towed the neo-con line at the Iraq hearing and blamed all Iraq’s problems on Iran,……. nothing left to but bomb Iran ?

  3. Regarding the government-speak phrase “simulated drowning”:

If I beat somebody over the head with a baseball bat to within one inch of his life, did I “simulate” beating him to death? Anybody who uses the phrase “simulated drowning” should be compelled to experience simulated beating to death.

Also a good point to bring up when people like yesterday’s Mr. Schneier tell us that we are goofy to trust private companies rather than the criminal gang of government:

Why must the criminal gang of government prohibit private companies from defending themselves and their customers if the private companies choose on their own to pay some of these external costs? Its sort of like having a law against private individuals from cleaning graffiti off of the public street signs because the false economic theory of public goods needs a little enforcement help–or outlawing all fireworks except government fireworks. I think we should address these believers in the religion of public goods by first getting them to realize that they don’t have to outlaw private cost bearing, the same way Ron Paul tries to at least get the government to legalize gold to compete with its bayonet-enforced fiat money.

And if we’re really serious about assigning responsibility for causing and paying costs of 9/11, has Mr. Scheier calculated the costs to everybody of having a government mafia putting a CIA command and control center in the Twin Towers and then getting involved in gangland disputes with other government mafias and endangering the rest of us by using us as human shields?

The false economic theory of public goods does not even apply here. This issue here is what do we do about the religious superstition of statism that universally blinds the entire society including fake economists.

  4. …It’d be nice if the more inquisitive toward the Machinations of US Foreign Policy weren’t kept in the dark and fed bullshit…As it is? You have to rely on instinct and educated conjecture. Conclusions?? If the well known “Powers that be” can’t come to a negotiated agreement with Tehran, then yeah, it’s textbook Clausewitz once again…Why step in shit with one foot [Iraq] when you can do it with both? [Iran]

  5. Sludge report has a link to a story “small Iranian boats taunt US warships” the link just takes you back to sludge though.

    Posted by Anders | April 11, 2008, 11:15 am
  6. It’s linked to up on antiwar.com now

    Iranian boat story

The Navy says a ship encountered a small Iranian high-speed boat in the central Persian Gulf and warned it away by firing a flare.

Two other similar Iranian boats in the area did not come as close.

The USS Typhoon tried unsuccessfully to establish radio contact with the Iranian boat after it came within an estimated 200 yards of the Typhoon on Thursday, outside Iranian territorial waters. A Navy official says the ship then fired the flare and continued on its way without incident.

The official says there were no signs any boat was armed.

It was at least the second encounter with an aggressive Iranian high-speed boat this year. In January, Iranian boats made what the Navy called provocative moves near a U.S. ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

  7. The US warships out there off the coast off Iran are not provocative, but a small unarmed Iranian speed boat is ? …. welcome to bizarro world.

what the hell do those Iranians think they’re doing having boats in water close to their own country ? outrageous!!! something must be done.

  14. …Dudes…Didn’t the last Iranian Speedboat/US Navy encounter–This was previous to the Jan ‘08 incident I think—Turn out to be an edited video hoax? There’s nothing like Government contrivance to gage Public sentiment when the neo-Cons trigger finger starts gettin’ itchy again…Go figure?

Posted by Mace Price | April 11, 2008, 3:05 pm
  15. …They attack Iran on Israeli demands, and for starts Oil will rocket to at least $150-60 a barrel, Gold will go into the Stratosphere, your Dollar won’t be worth shit, and then worse…Think of the economic fallout in The US alone?

Posted by Mace Price | April 11, 2008, 3:15 pm
  16. Didn’t it turn out to be some prankster making the “threats” ? Filipino ‘Monkey’ was it ? someone spliced the audio of his voice over video of the boats approaching the US battle ships, Turned out to be a load of old bollock’s, i bet cheney whacked that together on his mac.

    Posted by Anders | April 11, 2008, 3:19 pm
  17. Anders, I recall reading that “Filipino Monkey” was more a generic racial slur for any mariner (or person speaking on a radio channel ships use) who sounds Filipino.

Also, I’m listening to the show’s MP3 still, and Scott wanted a comprehensive Neocon list. I don’t have one, but saved this picture when I saw it a while back:

I think it was from something on Takimag.com, but I don’t know for sure.

  21. One more comment like that and you can take your smartassery to Third Party Watch.

  22. …Like I been sayin’ all along…Y’all can stick a fork in Hillary’s Big Fat, Red Ass…She’s done…And if she’s interested as to why? Tell her to go look in a mirror, before it breaks.

  25. …Just turned off NBC Nightly News…and…it seems that Osama Bomma’s been recorded addressing a group of Bay Area Leftist elites as to the ignorance and backward values of small town White Americans, “Clinging to religion and their guns” as it were…Needless to say, Hillary’s already got hold of this blunder and is presently beating the shit out of him in rural Indiana—This by the playing God Fearing, Gun Toting, Hard Working, Family Oriented Conservative, all to the strains of John Mellencamp’s “Small Town”—The irony of it is that Big Mother’s convictions aren’t one iota different—But that notwithstanding, this Cavalier slip of the mouth, whether through arrogance, patronage or sleep deprivation may may well be the kiss of death for Iraqa Bomba’s Campaign. The fuckin’ bought and paid for Con Artist had made—Till this faux pas got out of the bag…Go figure?

Posted by Mace Price | April 12, 2008, 8:16 pm
  26. lmao! jeeezz, Anders. if that isn’t ’shopped, someone on that campaign isn’t very observant.

  27. She was floggin’ it yesterday in Pennsylvania, too, Mace. I just happened to catch the late cnn replay, according to [J.R. (Bob)] Dobbs’ sidekick, guess someone on HuffPo ‘released’ the audio a while back and it is just now floating to the top. they had Ed Rollins and some other subgenii on talkin’ about it last night.

    Posted by mudshark | April 12, 2008, 8:43 pm
  28. They say Bob Barr could pull in 5-10% and snatch away the election from McCain, giving it to the DemocRat.

At this point, all in American politics (regardless of outcome) is dark comedy. So this outcome would make me laugh, and be more humorous than some of the others.

Posted by Oscar Goldman | April 12, 2008, 8:45 pm
  29. that would be a funny act in this theatre of the absurd, OG.

Dan over at @TAC has an interview with Barr coming in the next edition.

  30. …They say never count the Clintonistas out…and in that regard I have to admit I’ve learned a lesson…Yet if Osama Bombma can survive this case of instant hoof in mouth disease, I still can’t see anyone other than Killer McCain stopping him in November.

Posted by Mace Price | April 13, 2008, 4:55 pm
  31. I saw Hillary clinton giving a speech in pennsylvania after that story about Obamas comments broke, she had this ridiculous smirk on her face and began talking in an unbelievably patronizing manner saying “i would never say that about you”, suddenly she’s a pro gun bible thumper.

    Posted by Anders | April 13, 2008, 5:10 pm
  32. …Yeah I know, Big Mother Hillary’s suddenly found the guidance of the Lord and home defense per Smith & Wesson…Miserable, sloppy ass, lying bitch that she is…Well my good Anders, that’s why I maintain that, Politics? Are Diabolic.

Posted by Mace Price | April 13, 2008, 6:05 pm
  33. She’d better pull something out of the bag soon, rumor has it that man-bear-pig Al Gore and co are ready to wield the axe on Shillary’s campaign
