I notice that there was no periodic “panning” of the audience….how big was the arena/facility….and how many people showed up….Mostly students? Professors? A mix… Any locals hear about in on Jack Blood and decide to take a stroll over?
Oscar, Thanks man. Actually, I’m only 5′ 8” or so, it’s just that I’m so skinny, it tweaks your perspective in 2D. : )
There’s still a segment missing re:Sadr v Badr, but nothing ya’ll haven’t heard before. Bill Giltner, the guy who filmed it, says he’s working on fixing the glitch and will have the final up tomorrow.
The case against war with Iran…. The American people truly needs to dig its heels in and prepare to stand eyeball to eyeball with the warmongers until they cringe away and slither back under the dank subterranean places from whence they came.
Steve. It’s been a long long while since I played with a human. But my usual opening, if I’m white, is E2 to E4. Typically I try to castle very early on, and attempt to wreak havoc with my two knights. However, if the opponent is terribly green, I use the four move win scheme on them with bishops and queen. That teaches them a lesson to get serious.
You oughta go on the lecture circuit, Scott. Set the sheeple straight. And nice job, Anders. I hope you get some sleep and aren’t an insomniac like me.
Wow, good stuff. Good speech, well organized and distilled to the heart of the matter. Was nice to see Scott for once. The presentation/appearance is impressive and lends weight to the words. Only suggestion would be to reduce the last remnants of apologetic body language.
To the question of convincing people:
- It’s not easy to have all the relevant facts on hand, in head the way Scott does. Debating Iran with someone it tends to devolve into an ‘is so’ ‘is not’ debate. However it’s our calling to seriously study the relevant facts and present them to others. This is why The Show is so indispensable to me. Credit to Scott for the work in bringing-together and drilling us with the really important points - repetition helps me remember Credit of course also to the great reporters/writers he sources..
- Art. Taking a cue from Scott again, watch Star Wars with your pro-war friend. See those imperial star destoryers? We call them ‘aircraft carriers’. Star Wars is libertarian - It reveals the empire for what it is. On the other hand, Star Trek is statist - the heroes are all government employees.
Wouldn’t you love to see Scott on a ‘crossfire’ format with some neocon for a good hour of debate on iran?
