  1. He ’s just a comedian. Nothing else. I am not surprised as I feel he always “cheapened the dialogue”.

  2. “He ’s just a comedian. Nothing else”

True, i just hate seeing these criminals talking their way out of being held accountable, he says it wasn’t deliberate deception

  3. Did you guys see that Hagee is coming out and apologizing for trash-talking about the Catholic Church? I guess he said that stuff for years in public, but didn’t really mean it?

  4. Hagee also apologized for his remarks blaming gays for hurricane Katrina, and then said he meant it after all.

  5. Whenever I think of Hagee, I think of this……. and so should he.

“If any prophet, priest, or anyone else says, ‘I have a (false) prophecy from the Lord,’ I will punish that person along with his entire family. I will forget you completely. I will expel you from my presence, along with this city that I gave to you and your ancestors. And I will make you an object of ridicule, and your name will be infamous throughout the ages.’” (Jeremiah 23)

I am scared just reading it and I am not a minister.

  7. Sorry to change the subject there, but Anders, is this shit for real?

“More than 10 million people are to have their everyday disputes, their politics and their business lives checked by new “tension monitoring” committees.

The committees are to be set up to try to cut the risk of riots or disturbances in the aftermath of terrorist outrages or outbreaks of local racial trouble.

They will ask for and file reports on named troublemakers whose political activities are considered to be raising community tensions.

Reports on the behaviour and attitudes of local residents will be collected by community workers, neighbourhood wardens, local councillors and provided by voluntary organisations, according to a paper published by Communities Secretary Hazel Blears today.

It will then be considered by the monitoring committees run by town halls. ”

  8. Bob, Even though it’s in the daily mail, it Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if that were true.

  10. BB:

I read the article……. that list included FAITH GROUPS…. Ha Ha Ha Your priest/rabbi will narc on you to the Gov….

I love the term: Monitoring Committees…..maybe Scott can set one up in Austin…… A public/privarte partnership….

Maybe they can setup a toll free number to narc on your neighbors…and give rewards….and when calling you don’t have to leave your name but they can wire your “reward” to a numbered account….

The best line (ever?) “community cohesion contingency planning”

Hmmmmmm…. That could be the name of a college course - don’t you think?

    Posted by stevec | May 13, 2008, 6:54 pm
  11. community cohesion contingency planning.

Acronym is CCCP (USSR). Hmm….wonder if that is a coincidence?

    Posted by phil | May 13, 2008, 8:01 pm
  12. Do you think that could be a new Cabinet Post:

_____________, Director of Community Cohesion Contingency Planning under President Hillary Clinton……

[Maybe it could be a sub-Division of The Department of Homeland Security]

  13. I thought Jon Stewart just used a different tactic than usual, quiet logic rather than over the top ridicule but at the end of the day to me Feith came across as very lame and Stewart still got the point across that they lied us into war. Take note of the audience reaction to Stewart’s points. Would I have preferred ridicule yes but would any of them ever come on the show to be out argued again, no.

  14. Keith

Are you saying that these Neocon guests are too stupid to realize that they are being mocked and ridiculed??

    Posted by phil | May 14, 2008, 10:31 am
  15. Phil

Even though they are either very evil or very stupid I think they understand the nature of the show. Nevertheless, if the personal experience is not too bad they will still go on it. Feith probably left the show thinking that was not as bad as i expected and I got my message out even though Stewart made what he was saying look like the nonsense that it was. Also, I completely disagree with you on the idea that Stewart cheapens the dialog. Sometimes he is the only MSM source of certain kinds of dialog and every once in awhile I find myself writing down a point he has made. Yes the main objectives is laughs but like all great comedy there are counter points, in this case social and political discourse. Some of the saddest most heart touching scenes I have ever viewed have occurred in episodes of very funny show Cheers.

  16. I think its really sad that you have to go to a comedy show to get news. I don’t think it has much of an effect on people. My kids watch it and laugh but really don’t learn anything. My generation watched Johnny Carson do his monologues of the news but we didn’t count on him to enlighten us as to what was going on.

Its like the Media saying to us, ” Here is your news circus, you peasants”.

  17. Phil…..

Have you gone the CP Route or the LP Route? I know your on the lists w/ Mike Pannone and he strikes me more as Constitution Party than Libertarian Party….I’m thinking of becoming an Olive Tree that spreads it branches of peace to both parties….and I’m waiting to see who offers more goodies….

  18. Offered for comment………….

The Constitution Party “USED” Keyes? What a joke?

This guy has a little big of profile as being a perpetual candiate and thought the CP would roll over for him…..When it didn’t, and Non - Interventionist Chuck Baldwin - he cut and run….and is now crying foul…. What a Loser…..

    Posted by stevec | May 14, 2008, 10:20 pm
  19. Although I am GOP, I really don’t belong to any party. The LP doesn’t interest me. The CP interests me but has no base.

I am still waiting to see what happens with RP at the convention. I am not sure who I will vote for but I can tell you it will not be McCainiac, Billary or Obama.
Although Raimondo seems to be leaning towards Obama, I am not sure why other than to prevent the other two from winning.

“Uncle Tom” Keyes has always been a phoney who loves the limelight but is a true definition of a political “jobber”. He runs only to draw votes away from legitamite candidates who are trying to make a difference. He is nothing but a big wind bag full of hot air.

I think Baldwin would be wonderful but I am going to wait and see. I also think Murray Sabrin has a good shot at the Senate in NJ and will vote for him.

  20. From THIRD PARTY WATCH……..

    Keyes Starts New Party
Posted by Trent Hill — May 15th, 2008
Alan Keyes, who was recently beaten 3-to-1 for the Constitution Party nomination for President, has decided to continue his run for President as an “Independent”. In order to facilitate with ballot-access, Keyes is trying to start a new party called “America’s Independent Party”. He has groupings of supporters in Texas, California, Florida, New York and Missouri. In what was their first major ballot-access hurdle, the Keyes campaign has failed to get on the ballot in Texas—collecting only 10,000 signatures. This is actually an impressive effort considering they had no time, no money, and no real support for such an effort, but nowhere near the 74,000 needed.

Next Keyes will be attempting to complete petitions in Arizona, New Mexico, North Carolina, Colorado, Conneticut, and Illinois—and it is unlikely he’ll get on the ballot in any of these states except for Colorado.

EDIT: To be clear, Keyes tried to qualify as an Independent in Texas, not as a party.

  21. Keyes = draw votes away from legitamite candidates, thats his role. How come he never endorses any of the good guys and seems to show up when there is third party momentum building and then proceeds to divide the movement??

He’s a phoney with a big ego and mouth to match.

I wonder what else him and Kristol did in college together.

    Posted by phil | May 15, 2008, 4:10 pm
  22. Does this mean your not going to contribute to his campaign?
