HELP: I am looking for info to make a simple “Israeli Gas Tax” argument that makes a quantitative analysis showing a component (the approximate, undisputed amount, which I think is about a $1/gallon) of today’s gas price is due directly to the tensions created by Israel toward Iran and the risk assessed by the market that could result in the closing of the Straight of Hormuz which 40% of all world oil flows. I need to back this down through the years including the 2006 invasion of Lebanon that shows how this relationship has directly impacted our economy and our “love to drive” lifestyle by directly causing elevated oil prices. Any links or resources appreciated.
Horton, you can never go wrong starting the week off with some Fear.
Here we go!!!
So Carah Ong! IRAN IS PURSUING NUCLEAR WEAPONS???

Today the telegraph slingshots more unfounded anonymous allegations at Iran.

The stream sure is weak today. You keep going out on me, Scott.
8 breaks in the stream at 20 minutes here. Luckily i rip the show and play the incomplete file as it builds and joins the parts together.
that sucks.
That article in the Telegraph is by Con Coughlin, an extremly unreliable reporter-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Con_Coughlin#Criticism
Coughlin has been criticized for writing highly controversial unsubstantiated articles that provide justification for British foreign policy, which have subsequently been proven false[5]. He has a history of accepting phoney stories from MI6 and then publishing articles in the name of fabricated sources. He was accused of publishing Black Propaganda[6] during the infamous libel proceedings brought againstDaily Telegraph for the allegations he made about Libya’s Saif Qaddafi (Colonel Gaddafi’s son)
Anders, what text editor do you use to make such fancy embedded links? TextMate?
I just copied and pasted that from wikipedia and the links stayed in there.
But if you want to make hyper links just highlight the text you want the link to be and click the little link icon, paste in the web address you’re linking from and click insert.
Hope that makes sense.
Scott, about the monkeys…I’m pretty sure that pigs have similar enough immune systems that they are useful for the same purpose.
But I’m guessing this is the Iranian’s secret, evil plan.
link got eaten:

OMG…suicide bomber monkeys trained to sneak aboard planes and blow up sites with dirty bombs in America! Someone alert Norman Podhoretz immediately!!!
Anders, I’m always looking for the hard way to do things. To wit: Some text editors, like TextMate, will let you mark up text with html and then “force” the text into the blog. Probably not worth the trouble for simple posts, but ones with lots of links it could be useful. Too bad I’m too dense to figure out how to make it work. Just think of all the time I could waste using that text editor….
Ooo she’s good! I didn’t know that the IAEA got the docs from the smoking laptop in March.
Thanks!
