Serious Competition

The debut of the new daily Lew Rockwell Show!

Listen to Lew – his booming voice and completely “uh” and stumble-free eloquence – explain the crime of central banking, its connection to the police/warfare state, the Fed’s responsibility for the Great Depression, their deceptions blaming freedom for the consequences of the creation of printing press money, proposals for vast new regulatory controls and restrictions, the ready availability of Murray Rothbard’s books on the subject and the necessity of righteous indignation on the part of central banking’s victims (all of us).

Boy, oh boy, I’m going to have to step it up…

As Great as the Lew Rockwell Show is/is going to be compared to Scott Horton, Slick Rick said it best, “there is no competition”.

I watched the clip of Glen Beck that Lew put up on his site this morning, David Horowitz was the guest and he said “lew Rockwell is in bed with the islamofascists ” it seems anyone who is against waging war on muslims is a Islamofascist in Horowitz’ book, whatever one of those is supposed to be.

He even has his own baritone voiced bloke introducing him :)

Hey Scott… No need for the long explaination on McCain… I love it when you simply tell it like it is…  “John McCain is a GODDAMN liar!”
Suppose you got 2 hours of a radio show to fill though…
Lew’s great but you’re still Ace Scott!

Good stuff on the show about Bob Barr. I don’t get immediately excited about these Republicans and ex-Republicans who take up the Libertarian nomination.

Ron Paul, on the other hand, is very appealing to many of us non-Republicans. Barr’s pretty unenthusiastic about calling out criminals when they have a (R) next to their names.

I really don’t have a problem with people coming from other parties if they have a record like Ron Paul, which Bob Barr doesn’t. Also, didn’t he vote for the Patriot Act? If so, I don’t think that’s very good for the Libertarian party.

Hi Scott, Angela, Anders, SteveC et al.Work is kicking my ass.  As the Second Great Depression kicks in, I have to make sure I’m one of the first scmucks to arrive and one of the last ones to leave.  The rest of my little time left is for family and lurking on this site but being too tired for anything coherent to say.Thank you, central banksters and warmonger subhuman scum.  May you all drown in a river of shit.
As for Lew Rockwell, nah.  Comparing you two is like apples and oranges.  Actually I quite look forward to hearing both of you.  Maybe Ron Paul’s foundation can help run both of your operations comfortably.

  24. MikeL posted the following on July 21, 2008 at 10:14 pm.

Yeah, Oscar’s right. My favorite interviews of yours, Scott, are with Lew. You too have a nice rapport.
Btw, has anyone else been sick as a dog this summer? I’ve had three colds in the past six weeks and today my throat is so sore that I feel like a shark has slid down it, tail first.

On CNN they’re doing the usual “Obama vs. McCain they’re so different!” thing, but they threw in a “biggest war criminal ever; killed 100k+ people in Kosovo guy got captured.” I guess they still haven’t bothered to count the actual number yet? http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/07/21/serb.arrest/index.html

Oh, well, no, that’s right. This guy is from the war in Bosnia, not the Kosovo war which came later.

I also don’t see Lew’s work being competition at all to The Show.
    1) We’re talking about 15 minutes vs 2 hours
    2) Lew’s probably not going to emphasize the bad foreign policy developments of the day, but more of an educational type podcast;  something that can help relate current events to Austrian theory for the less-literate out there.
    3) In terms of style, i like both Scott and Lew for different reasons.  I’d hate for Scott to begin sounding dry and formal.  But if Scott wants to work on some aspect of his delivery or presentation hey fine.  As long as he knows where he wants to go with it.
I think back to the 2nd to last (?) interview with Luke Ryland on the Sibel Edmonds case, where Scott made this awesome connection that I’d have never thought about, and Luke pauses and goes, “see, this is why you’re the best radio interviewer on the planet, Scott”.   It was a great moment.
