You’re implying we won’t be doomed if Obama makes it.
We’re doomed either way… it’s just a question of when and who’s at the helm.

Does this mean you’ve purchased your seeds from Big John Lipscomb?http://www.survivalistseeds.com/Note: I assume you’ve already procured a 6 month canned food and water supply while your seeds grow.

If McCain gets in I’m afraid he’ll get us all nuked. Picture him sitting in some bunker somewhere post-apocalypse, getting ready to repopulate the world with his spawn, shaking out a little blue pill into the palm of his hand.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD7_7SXsHU8&feature=related

we had the two members of congress who are uncompromising truth tellers run for President this year, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. Unfortunately the truth seems to preclude electability in America.
We all here at stressblog know Iran is not a credible threat to America; but if Obama was too say that he could not be elected. So he rightfully plays along with the false narrative and campaigns on the idea that, how we deal with this (imagined) threat is to talk with them.
You all would agree that would be a step towards sanity and it protects Obama from being eviscerated by denying a commonly held wisdom.
It is impossible to know how much Obama buys into any of the many false narratives which rule American discourse. Or how much the powerful whispering in Obama’s ear has twisted the perception of the decent fellow I met some 11 years ago here in Chicago. But one thing we do know is the Neocons don’t want him to win, and as Justin pointed out a few months ago prehapes what our course of action should be is to just advocate the opposite of what the neocons want.
I remember eight years ago the hard core liberals were saying Gore would be little better than Bush boy were they wrong.
And here is where we know Obama is better. the Neocons want America to drive SUVs burn lots of gas and choke off any supplies their buddies don’t own. Obama want us to inflate our tires and phase out fossile fuels. That in it self is huge.

Obama has brought in plenty of crazy and/or evil foreign policy advisers. And he’s talking about escalating the war on Afghanistan. That maybe gasoline will possibly cost less if he gets into office than McCain doesn’t make much difference to me. Still awful.

I too am troubled by Obama’s talk of escalating Afghanistan. and I fear it’s too late for a real Marshall plan in Afghan. But an interview Scott did, which sticks in my mind, was one with some lady who talked about the horrible famine, about Afganiees eating grass and mud. Bush’s talk of fake womens rights while the people are starving is counter productive. If Obama shipped in grain for the people, and heavily subsidized peasant farmers, they would have food; and that would help immensely. ( I have observed fat well fed people are slow to pick up guns and go fight the government)
If Obama kicks out the contractors and pays Afganees to build one room school houses and such there will be work. Scott rightly observed the people of Afgan don’t really like the Taliban but the USA has offered the people nothing bettter, nothing but bombs and death so what are they going to do.
If Obama truely cares for the wellbeing of the poor peasant farmer over the well being of Haliburton and acts brillently and honestly then he stands a slim chance of creating a real Marshall plan. If McCain gets to continue the path Bush has us on; well……

The only good scenario possible for the US, which is highly unlikely:John McCain selects Ron Paul as VP, they get elected and then McCain passes away.
