Scott, about the whole Afghan war, people love it because that’s where bin Laden was on 911.  Since he was allied with the Taliban, everyone believes the Afghans deserve this war.

Also, as far as the American people tearing this government down, why would they?  For Jose Padilla?  The dumbass gangbanger who converted to Islam?  Or any of the rest who are Muslims that speak a funny language and have some weird culture?  That’s how most Americans see it to one degree or another, unfair but generally used against foreign elements who most likely hostile anyway.  After all, why did the U.S.S.R. collapse, because the security organs were oppressive and the spread of “glorious” Soviet revolution was immoral?  The system collapsed because people couldn’t even get bread and things got desparate enough to push the government to revolution.
